Online Desk: Activists of political parties, religious outfits, government officials, members of human rights and civil society organisations are coming together in processions and rallies in all parts of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir on Wednesday, to express solidarity with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a solidarity rally will be held at Constitution Avenue, Islamabad, to be attended by federal ministers, lawmakers, and Kashmiri leaders. Pakistani embassies and consulates worldwide will organize seminars, rallies, and exhibitions to expose India’s human rights violations in IIOJK.
A media campaign has been launched with PTV, Radio Pakistan, and private news channels airing special programs on Kashmir. Similarly, across Pakistan, metro stations, airports, and major roads are adorned with banners showcasing solidarity with Kashmiris. Educational institutions are holding debates and essay competitions to engage students in the Kashmir cause.
Human chains will be formed across all seven bridges connecting Azad Kashmir with Pakistan.
The day is being observed to convey to the Kashmiri people that Pakistan always stands firmly with the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self-determination.
For around eight decades, Pakistan has been a strong voice for the oppressed Kashmiris, reaffirming its commitment to their right to self-determination. Every year, on February 5, Pakistan observes Kashmir Solidarity Day to highlight the suffering of Kashmiris and remind the world of its moral and legal obligations toward resolving the Kashmir dispute.
Pakistan considers it a national duty to support the people of IIOJK and has pledged to champion their cause, whatever effort it takes.
The day is also observed to remind the world that the Kashmir dispute remains an unfinished agenda of the Partition Plan, and Pakistan considers its freedom imperative for the fulfillment of the objectives of the Pakistan Movement.
