Diplomatic Desk: The High Commission for Pakistan in Bangladesh organized an event on Tuesday to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming support for the just struggle of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The event was attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, civil society representatives, and local journalists.
Messages from the leadership of Pakistan, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, were read out during the event. In their messages, the President and Prime Minister paid tribute to the resilience of the Kashmiri people in their fight against India’s unlawful occupation. They reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic, political, and moral support until the Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The leadership emphasized that this day serves as a reminder to the international community of its responsibility toward the oppressed people of Kashmir. They urged the United Nations to fulfill its 77-year-old commitment and support Kashmiris in their rightful struggle for self-determination.
In his concluding remarks, High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maroof echoed the stance of the Pakistani leadership and reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmir cause. He emphasized that Pakistan will continue to advocate for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at all international forums.
The High Commission also organized a photo exhibition showcasing Indian atrocities in IIOJK. Participants toured the exhibition and expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir.
