Md. Mijanur Rahman Akand, Phulpur: A human chain of primary teachers was held demanding implementation of 9th grade for head teachers and 10th grade for assistant teachers along with 100% departmental promotion.
Md. Abul Kashem, Central President of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association, spoke as the chief guest at the human bandh held in front of Phulpur Upazila Parishad on Wednesday afternoon. District Teachers’ Association Leader Nurul Haque, Upazila Teachers’ Association President Roksana Yasmin Rita, Executive President Ramzan Ali Sarkar, General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Salim, Joint Secretary Omar Farooq and other teacher leaders spoke as special guests. The speakers in the human chain made a 1-point demand and said, 10th grade is not our demand, it is our right. We have to implement this fair demand very soon. At the end of the human chain, the teachers presented a memorandum to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer ABM Ariful Islam.
