Md. Mizanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: On the occasion of Autumn Durga Puja celebrations at Phulpur in Mymensingh, a discussion meeting on security of places of worship, maintenance of law and order and relevant issues was held.
The preparatory meeting was held on Sunday afternoon at the Upazila Parishad conference room. Upazila Executive Officer Sadia Islam Seema presided over it. This year, Durga Puja ceremonies will be celebrated in a total of 46 Puja Mandap in the upazila. It was decided in the meeting that adequate security measures including CCTV cameras will be strengthened in each Mandap. Present at the event were Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tasnim Jahan, Phulpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdul Hadi, Army (Phulpur-Tarakanda) Senior Warrant Officer Karimul Islam, Phulpur Upazila BNP Convener Alhaj Siddiqur Rahman, Joint Convener AKM Sirajul Haque, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Golam Kibria, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Begum Shahin, Social Service Officer Shihab Uddin, Puja Celebration Committee President Debal Kumar Saha, Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad President Paritosh Dutta, Jubo Dal leader AKM Ariful Haque and others.
In addition, local journalists and those in charge of various Puja Mandap were present at the event.
