Online Desk: Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) celebrated its 46th Anniversary on Thursday, 04 July 2024, at its Head Office located at House # 93/3, Level – 4 & 6, Road # 8, Block – C, Niketon , Gulshan -1. Employees and stakeholders discussed their thoughts and opinions, ideas on expanding their operational reach and increasing the quality of services. PSTC commemorated the event with a cake-cutting ceremony and discussion sessions at its project offices and clinics.
The event also included dialogue with representatives from newspapers and TV channels, and a cultural session. Presiding over the ceremony was PSTC’s Treasurer, Mr. Md. Badrul Munir. Executive Director of PSTC, Dr. Noor Mohammad, talked about PSTC’s identity, evolution, achievements, and the current landscape and challenges of increasing awareness, availability and quality of services offered for the socially disadvantaged population of Bangladesh. Over the past 46 years, PSTC has served over 50 lac people, providing antenatal and postnatal care to more than 1.5 lac pregnant women, healthcare services including vaccinations for over 3 lac children, and family planning services to more than 3.5 lac couples. PSTC has also helped raise awareness on sexual and reproductive health and rights among over 1.5 lac adolescents, and provided skills education and training to more than 1000 women and girls to empower them as community leaders. Attendees at the event wished for the continued growth and success of PSTC. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a cultural performance.
