Online Desk: India has escalated hybrid warfare tactics against Pakistan with New Delhi deploying a multifaceted strategy aimed at destabilizing the country. A report by the Kashmir Media Service titled “Hybrid War Against Pakistan,” sheds light on how India is waging a multi-front hybrid war that includes disinformation campaigns, promotion of terrorism, and a systematic attempt to tarnish Pakistan’s global reputation.

The report points out that India’s hybrid strategy heavily leverages misinformation and fake news targeting Pakistan, using state resources to fuel a disinformation network that seeks to brand Pakistan as a supporter of terrorist groups. The report asserts that India has been repeatedly exposed in its disinformation efforts, with several international investigations uncovering fake news networks operated by Indian interests to influence global opinion against Islamabad.

KMS references prior investigations by the EU DisinfoLab, which revealed a sprawling network of fake media outlets and NGOs operated by Indian interests, targeting international opinion on Pakistan and Kashmir. DisinfoLab’s findings exposed hundreds of fake websites in nearly 65 countries that published misleading content to portray Pakistan in a negative light. The network, which included fabricated news sites, was designed to influence policymakers within the EU and the UN by disseminating anti-Pakistan narratives and discrediting legitimate Kashmiri demands for self-determination.

The report further cites investigations by the BBC and Al Jazeera, which corroborate claims that India has employed an extensive misinformation campaign targeting Pakistan. These investigations suggest that Indian disinformation efforts are part of a larger strategy to label Pakistan as a supporter of terrorism while deflecting attention from Kashmir’s legitimate resistance, as defined by the principles in the United Nations Charter.

KMS asserts that India’s disinformation campaign attempts to criminalize Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, painting their struggle as illegitimate while amplifying its accusations against Islamabad. The report also criticizes Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, describing its use of hybrid warfare tactics as reflective of a fascist approach to regional dominance.

Pakistanis and Kashmiris alike, the report notes, remain united in their resolve to counter India’s hybrid warfare tactics. The report concludes by urging the international community to recognize and counter India’s hybrid war operations, particularly the information warfare that has become a core element of India’s strategy against Pakistan.
