MM Rahmatullah: The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia has officially handed over 372 tons of Sacrificial Meat to the Bangladesh government. Some cartons of this meat were handed over to the Bangladesh government representatives at a ceremony organized at the Saudi Embassy in Baridhara in the capital on Sunday.
Abdulaziz Fahad M Al Ibrahim, Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, senior officials of the embassy and representatives of the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry attended the event.
In response to journalists’ questions, the Deputy Head of Mission said that there was a delay in reaching the sacrificial animal meat in Bangladesh due to freezing temperatures.
Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia said, “After the holy Hajj, Qurbani Meat has been distributed to different countries in the world.
In response to another question, sacrificial animal meat is being distributed to 25 countries in Bangladesh.
As part of this, 40,000 sacrificial animal meat is being distributed in Bangladesh. These meats are a gift to the people of Bangladesh from King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salam.”
This meat has been distributed among madrasahs, orphanages and poor people through local administrations at 64 district and upazila levels across the country.
Abdulaziz Fahad M Al Ibrahim expressed hope that this will further strengthen the good relations between the two countries.
According to the information of the Saudi Embassy, initiatives have been taken to distribute sacrificial meat in various countries during the holy Hajj season of 1445 Hijri, as part of which this gift has been sent to Bangladesh.
It is worth noting that on December 2, about 372 tons of sacrificial meat arrived at the Chattogram seaport in 24 containers.
