Mostafizur Rahman,Sarishabari: Hasna Akhter (12), a 6th class student committed suicide by twisting her sari around Jamalpur’s Sarishabari. The incident took place in Bagarpar village on wednesday morning. After receiving the news, the police recovered the body of the student and brought it to Sarishabari police station. The deceased student is the daughter of Hashan Ali of Bogarpar village of Pogaldigha union of the upazila and a 6th class student of the local Bogarpar High School.
The deceased’s grandmother Hajera Begum said that Hasna’s parents live in Dhaka. In the morning, she told grandmother to bring rice powder and eat pitha. After saying this, she put on her school dress and left the house to go to school. She came back to the house in the middle of going to school.She committed suicide by twisting her saree.
In this regard, Sub Inspector of Tarakandi Police Investigation Center, Sultan Mahmud said that the body of the student was found hanging with her sari wrapped around the body of the house. Later, the body was recovered and brought to Sarishabari police station.
Sarishabari police station officer in-charge Muhammad Mohabbat Kabir said that the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Jamalpur Sheikh Hasina Medical College Mortuary for post-mortem. Initially, the cause of suicide was not known.
