City Desk: We are deeply saddened to note that some profit-seeking hospital and clinic authorities like Popular Hospital are handing over lakhs of medical bills to the injured students who participated in the recent student revolution, and the students who are unable to pay are not getting discharged from the hospital.
Bangladesh Muslim League strongly condemns such activities of money-hungry hospital-clinic authorities and owners. In the transition of the nation, the fascist Hasina government and its accomplices, who have given the nation a new taste of freedom, standing with their chests up against the moments, failed to selflessly provide little medical care to those commercial hospitals and clinics will be marked as an example of inhumanity. Recalling the government’s announcement to bear the medical expenses of those injured in the student revolution, the leaders said that the government should take responsibility for the medical expenses of the injured students undergoing treatment in private hospitals. The leaders strongly demanded the government to issue instructions not to create any kind of hindrance in returning home from all medical service centers including government and private hospitals and clinics to those who have already recovered. Acting President of Bangladesh Muslim League Advt Mohsen Rashid and Secretary General Kazi Abul Khair said these things in a joint statement on Tuesday.
