
MA Mannan, Bhola: Three traders have been fined Tk 11,000 in a monitoring the market of a mobile court operation in Borhanuddin, Bhola.
The fines were imposed during a drive at the municipal market and diagnostic centers in the upazila on Sunday (May 4) from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
The mobile court was run by Md Raihsnuzzaman, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO), Burhanuddin.
At that time, Borhanuddin Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Nirupam Sarkar and Upazila Sanitary Inspector Md. Nasir Uddin along with sufficient police forces were seen with him.
Borhanuddin Upazila UNO said,, ‘As part of market monitoring, we conducted a drive in the municipal market. At that time, Nasir Store was fined Tk 1,000 under Section 38 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 for not displaying the price list of daily necessities. In addition, M/s Rahman Medical, was fined Tk 5,000 under Section 51 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 for not renewing the license and keeping expired medicines in the shop, and SS Medical Services Center was fined Tk 5,000 under the relevant section of the Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Control) Ordinance, 1982 for keeping expired medicines in the lab and not displaying the price list of services. “Our campaign will continue in the public interest, said UNO.”
