Netrakona Correspondent: A meeting of the trustee board of Sailojaranjan Cultural Center was held at the conference room of Netrakona DC office here yesterday.
The cultural center was established at village Bharam in Mohanganj upazila under the district after the name of late Sailojaranajan Mojumder who was the principal of music department of ‘Santiniketon’, India.
The government allocated Taka 36 crore for constructing the cultural center.
Cultural affairs secretary Mohammad Abul Monsur addressed the meeting as chief guest with chairman of board of directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and former secretary of prime minister’s office Sazzadul Hasan in the chair.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by vice-chancellor of Kazi Nazrul Islam University Dr. Soumitra Shakor, VC of Sheikh Hasina University professor Golam Kabir, Mymensing divisional commissioner Shafiqur Rahman Biswash, joint secretary of cultural affairs ministry Subrota Bhoumik, joint secretary of finance ministry Mohammad Amirul Islam, deputy commissioner Anjana Khan Mojlish and police super Foyez Ahmed.
Besides, independent award recipient and renowned writer professor Jatin Sarker, director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Aademy Liakat Ali Laki and former director general of Bangladesh Television M Hamid virtually attended the meeting.
