Moon Desk : Two construction workers were killed and at least five others injured as an under-construction parking shed of Khagrachhari Zilla Parishad collapsed on Saturday afternoon.
It was learned that an under-construction parking shed of Khagrachhari Zilla Parishad collapsed around 4 pm.
Later, the army personnel and firefighters rescued six injured construction workers from the spot.
Of the injured, one died on the way to Sadar Hospital and later, the body of another worker was recovered from the scene.
Khagrachhari Fire Service and Civil Defence official Rajesh Barua said six people were rescued from the spot and sent to hospital.
Among them, one died, and later, the body of another was retrieved from under the collapsed shed, he said.
Visiting the scene, Basanti Chakma, a lawmaker from reserved seat, said the highest legal measures will be taken against the contracting company concerned.
