Moon Desk : Police have arrested the owner of Barishal Hotel in connection with the fire that broke out at a polythene factory and killed 6 people at Chawkbazar in the capital.
The arrestee is Fakharuddin.
He was arrested from Chawkbazar early Tuesday, Abdul Qaiyum, Officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar Police Station, confirmed the matter to News around 12pm.
He said, Mohammad Ali, elder brother of the deceased Rubel, filed the case on Monday. Later, we arrested the hotel owner after conducting drive today.
It is to be noted that, the fire ignited from the ground floor of the factory building which housed the hotel around 12pm on Monday.
Being informed, ten fire service units rushed to the spot and doused the fire after 2.20 hours. Later, six charred bodies were recovered from the building.
