MOON Desk: Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said the present government has given due importance to education for strengthening the country’s human resources.
He said the government under the dynamic and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for strengthening the country’s economy through substantial and sustainable promotion of competent workforce.
Mayor Liton, who is also the presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League, made the observation while addressing the annual cultural competition and prize distribution ceremony- 2023 of Rajshahi Collegiate School here today as chief guest.

Mayor Liton told the ceremony that they are taking forward the metropolis as many development activities have become visible with the support of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Premier has approved a project worth around Taka 3,000 crore for development of the city, he added.
He said Bangladesh has already turned into digital Bangladesh and its next phase is to become Smart Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced that her government will turn the country into ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041, the mayor added.
Liton said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has built Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park in Rajshahi and it has already gone into operation. Many youths are earning money through using computers and ICT.
In Rajshahi, around 10,000 freelancers have been created and they are earning money through freelancing.
The mayor said that the government has set a target to generate around 20-25 lakh freelancers, within the next 10 years, who will not search for jobs rather they will provide jobs to others.
