Moon Desk: The bodies of a missing couple were recovered from their private car at Bogartek area in Gazipur city early Thursday.
Their bodies were found in a private car at Nimtoli Hydrabad Bridge area early Thirsday morning.
Deceased Ziaur Rahman Mamun was the headmaster of Shaheed Smrity High School at Tongi, while his wife Jelly Akter was an assistant teacher of Amzad Ali School.
The couple’s son Md Miraz said his parents left their home at Kamarjuri area by their private car for their respective schools. Ending their duties, they left for the home at about 6:20pm on Wednesday. Since then they had gone missing.
Miraz said the relatives tried throughout the night to find out their parents, but could not trace them.
In the early morning, police said the bodies of Ziaur Rahman Mamun was found dead on the driver’s seat and his wife Jelly Akter on the adjacent seat at Hyderabad Bridge area. From there, they were taken to Tairunnesa Medical College Hospital and then to another hospital at Uttara where on-duty doctors pronounced them dead.
The bodies were sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Gazipur Metropolitan’s Gachha Police Station OC Nandalal Chowdhury.
