BSS, CHANDPUR: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said only Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina values the valiant freedom fighters following the footprints of her father.
She was addressing a view-exchange meeting with valiant freedom fighters of Chandpur sadar and Haimchar upazilas at Chandpur Zila Muktijoddha Sangsad auditorium on Friday evening.
Dipu, also Awami League joint general secretary, said after the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, numerous freedom fighters were killed by military backed government.
After assuming power in 1996, she said, Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had made massive development works and being elected again in 2009 for the second time, she brought war criminals and Bangabandhu killers to justice to free the nation from stigma.
Under her leadership, Bangladesh which was once dubbed as bottomless basket now turns into a role model of development.
Muktijoddha Sangsad Command war-wounded valiant freedom fighter Lieutenant Colonel (retd) M A Wadud chaired the meeting while Haimchar Upazila deputy commander Hafez Ahmed, district Muktijoddha Sangsad assistant commander Abdul Mannan Miazi and Haimchar Upazila freedom fighter Ismail Miji also spoke.
Muktijoddha Santan Command Council’s Chandpur sadar upazila convener Suman Sarkar moderated the meeting.
Chandpur municipality mayor Md Zillur Rahman, district Awami League organizing secretary Tafazzal Hossain Patwari, Advocate Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, district judge court public prosecutor Advocate Ranjit Roy Chowdhury, Zila Muktijoddha Sangsad Deputy Commander Mrinal Saha, Mohsin Pathan, Central Jubo League member and Muktijoddha Santan Command Council Chandpur District convener Zafar Iqbal Munna, district Jubo League joint convener Mahfuzur Rahman Tutul, Chandpur Sadar and Haimchar Upazila’s freedom fighters were present.
