Special Correspondent: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called upon students to equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and values needed to help build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh, describing the country’s young generation as its future leaders.

He made the remarks while hosting a luncheon for a group of students, teachers and visitors from different educational institutions at the VIP Cafeteria of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday, according to Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.

The luncheon was attended by 29 law students from the Canadian University of Bangladesh, 21 participants, including underprivileged students and their teachers, who joined through Surabhi—a partner organisation of the Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE)—and 16 students along with teachers from the Tejgaon College Debating Society.

During the event, the Prime Minister engaged in a cordial interaction with the students, inquiring about their studies and exchanging views on a range of issues.

Highlighting the importance of holistic development, Tarique Rahman urged students to focus not only on academic excellence but also on sports and extracurricular activities. He encouraged them to develop themselves into capable, skilled and responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.

The students and teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for providing them with the opportunity to attend the luncheon and interact with him.

As part of their visit to the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, the participants also learned about the functions of the Parliament Secretariat, visited the Parliament Library, took part in a photo session at the North Plaza, and observed the parliamentary proceedings from the visitors’ gallery of the parliamentary chamber.
