Online Desk: The publication festival and unveiling ceremony of the famous writer and journalist Shahadat Hossain Khan’s book ‘Chabbisher Ganoabhyutthan’ was organized at the National Press Club.
President of Jatiya Press Club and editor of Daily kaler kantho Kabi Hasan Hafiz presided over the publication festival on Thursday. Distinguished journalist and political analyst and Dainik Amar Desh Editor Dr Mahmudur Rahman was present as the chief guest, while Dainik Naya Diganta editor Alamgir Mohiuddin was present as special guest.
Former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. (retired) Nooruddin Khan and others addressed the event through video conference.
Former General Secretary of National Press Club Syed Abdal Ahmad, President of Dhaka Journalist Union Shahidul Islam, General Secretary Khurshid Alam and Supreme Court Advocate Dr. Syed Javed Mohammad Salehuddin spoke at the event.
Mahmudur Rahman said in the speech of the chief guest, we have revolutionized the power of our students. This revolution happened to build a strong and self-reliant nation. This nation will not look to Washington. As a result, we won’t get anything in the Washington election.
Remembering the National Solidarity Day, he said, on November 7, 1975, we saw the people’s revolution, through which the Indian conspiracy was countered through a remarkable revolution. Through that coup, all Bangladeshis got the taste of freedom in a real sense.
Mahmudur Rahman also said that after losing independence for the last 16 years, Bangladesh came under India again. The students rescued us from there; let us not forget their contribution. Everyone wanted this revolution, but the youth led it.
Dr. Syed Javed Mohammad Salehuddin, a distinguished lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh conducted the program. Shahadat Hossain Khan, author of the book, discusses various aspects of the book and hoped that the authors would be encouraged to bring out more publications in this regard.
Prayers were held in honor of the martyrs of the August revolution in the event.
