Chattogram Bureau: Chattogram Bureau: Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail joined as the chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority on Tuesday.
Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail took charge from the outgoing CPA chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, a press release said.
Mohammad Sohail earlier served Payra Port Authority as chairman. The Ministry of Public Administration in a circular on April 12 appointed him as CPA chairman.
Mohammad Sohail was commissioned at the Bangladesh Navy on January 1, 1988. In his long service life, he held important posts in the ships, bases, and headquarters of the Bangladesh Navy.
Mohammad Sohail won the NUP medal of the navy by participating in various professional training at home and abroad with achievements. He was awarded the National Integrity Medal and the navy chief’s Medal of Appreciation for his outstanding service and contributions, read the press release.
Mohammad Sohail served as the faculty of the Defence Services Command and Staff College. He served as the Legal and Media Wing director of the elite force Rapid Action Battalion. He was awarded the president`s police medal for his outstanding performance, said the press release.
Mohammad Sohail also served as Colonel GS in the Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Bureau and the Internal Affairs Bureau at the DGFI headquarters, the press release added.
