Sports Desk: Sabina Khatun, captain of Bangladesh women`s football team, is receiving floral wreath from State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport
Bangladesh women`s football team, who won their maiden SAFF Women`s Championship trophy, have returned the country.
The champions arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 1:46 pm, Wednesday.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) have jointly welcomed the girls with floral reception at the airport. After that, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel congratulated them with light refreshment of sweets.
Earlier, the ministry and the BFF authority prepared an open-top bus for the champion girls. The bus will now take the Tigresses from the airport to the BFF building in the city`s Motijheel area. After that, they will join with BFF president Kazi Salahuddin in a photo session, meeting and lunch respectively.
Meanwhile, sports fans of the country have already crowded at the airport area to welcome them.
State minister Russel requested all the sports lovers to welcome Sabina and co on the way. The SAFF winner girls will be taken from the airport to the BFF building on the open-top bus via Kakali, Mahakhali flyover, Shaheed Jahangir Gate, in front of the Prime Minister`s office, Bijoy Sarani, Tejgaon, Mouchak flyover, Kakrail, Fakirapool, Arambagh and Shapla square.
