Staff Reporter: Shahabuddin Ahmed Sentu, the brave freedom fighter who performed the national anthem during the guard of honor to the Mujib Nagar government in 1971, passed away at his residence in Uttara on Saturday (Inna lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiu’n). He was suffering from various physical problems due to stroke for a long time. He was a retired AGM of Sonali Bank and a founding member of Abahani Football Club. He is survived by one son and one daughter. He was given a guard of honor as a freedom fighter on his death. He has been buried in Uttara graveyard. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain expressed deep grief over the death of the brave freedom fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed Sentu and expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. Meanwhile, Md Motashim Billah, the former mayor of Meherpur municipality is expressing deep grief over his death.
